TMC Choir in Concert: "We Are the Music-Makers"

On Tuesday, April 5, at 1:30 P.M., at the Tuesday Musical Clubhouse, Jerome Malek and the Choir will present their Spring Concert, accompanied by pianist Elinor Duff. 

The first number is “We Are the Music-Makers,” by Patti Drennan.  To quote from the lyrics:  “Our voices, united, offer a gift of love, touching every spirit with passion and emotion; we give you a song.”

Next, we have “Five Hebrew Love Songs” by Eric Whitacre, with the text coming from poetry written by his wife Hila Plitmann, during their engagement.  Whitacre set the words to music to create tenderly romantic and poignant portrayals of:  “A Picture,” “Light Bride,” “Mostly,” “What Snow,” and “Tenderness.”

The final choir song is “I Thank You God,” by Gwyneth Walker.  Quoting from the text, “I who have died am alive again today.”
